Nigel Shaw graduated with Distinction from Laine Theatre Arts – Epsom UK. Upon retiring from professional dance and performing with the major celebrities of the era, he moved to Sydney and became an Australian Citizen in 2000. It was a natural progression for Nigel to explore the Australian realm of costume design and construction.

Nigel Shaw has been involved with most major musical theatre, streaming, television and stage productions on both land and sea for over 30 years, as well as dressing major Australian and visiting international artists including Lady Gaga | Monster Ball tour, Kylie Minogue | Dubai F1, Harry Styles, Olivia Newton-John, Kelly Rowland, Jason Derulo, George Michael, Dame Edna.

Nigel’s many original costume designs, costumes he has re-imagined or those re-created in the NSCD workroom, can be seen in the majority of Australian musical theatre productions and their international tours.

Nigel Shaw was awarded Australia's coveted Green Room Award for Musical Theatre - Design with Gabriella Slade for SIX the Musical! in 2022.
